Gold Willow Ranch
We are a small family ranch, focused on breeding top quality registered AQHA/APHA horses, raising hard working Australian Shepherds, and running a commercial Red Angus X cow/calf operation. We currently stand four stallions by private treaty to a limited number of outside mares: 2 x AQHA and 2 x APHA, all with top cutting, reining, and working cow performance bloodlines.

2011 Wood Mountain Wagon Train (July 3rd to 8th)
Our base camp was nestled in a valley just South of Rockglen, SK in a pasture owned by Warren Spagrud. |
where grazing was plentiful... (Saddie and Willow) |
and the scenery was stunning! |
The weather was nice and warm.... with gentle breezes to keep most bugs at bay |
skies were blue..and you could see for miles from many hilltops... |
taking a short break to rest the teams and enjoy each others company... there were about 8 wagons and 50 to 70 riders attending this year. |
Jake visited one evening, and went for a little hill climbing with Jasmine. |
Jake and Jasmine on a hilltop behind camp.... (photo taken on high zoom) |
and the same hill....(no zoom) can you see the two small dots? |
Our outfit and horses this year. |
So the close comes to another wonderful day....
and then, too soon, this year's ride is over,
and it's time to say farewell to friends,
old and new...until next year!

Easter Weekend 2011
Happy Easter Everyone!
The weather has finally warmed-up,
most of the snow has melted,
and the grass is starting to turn green again.
Nice enough to be out!...and |
Learning about electric fence! |
Water is starting to recede ...slightly... |
Filly enjoying the sun! |
OOOO....an itch! |
Bay? always seems to be the one to get into trouble! |
A view from pasture hills, smoke in distance our yard..burning some old bales. |
An unusual evening's entertainment... able to canoe over two fence lines. |
Jasmine and Jacob, a canoe.. and just a little water! |
Checking the main herd..... by canoe |
Back to Kira's Willow..... notice the dark shapes (horses) coming along the tree line. they followed the canoe across the water .....a breathe taking sight! |
